Ruby Tuesday#32 Red Dragon Dancer

>> 1/05/2010

Dragon dance is said to ward off bad spirits and to attract good luck. This is why dragon dancers during New Year's Day are in demand. This dragon dancer and his group passed by our house without stopping. We had to call his group back to dance for us. Of course, it's our way of calling back the good luck for this coming year 2010 too. Good luck for 2010, everyone!!

The dragon dancer sure looked tough and even scary. I suppose that's what he intended to be too.
A picture from a culture little known to me, and therefor very interesting.
Also beautiful colors.
I wish you a happy New Year.
